Admission and enrolment

The admissions process to apply for a place in ESDi is open all year. Even so, the most common and recommendable is to do it between twelve and six months before the start of the academic year in September.


It is relevant to keep in mind that places for each itinerary are limited and rigorously covered by order of reservation. This is why admissions process is usually closed some months before the start of the academic year, being recommendable to initiate the process several months in advance.

 

Registration is the administrative action for which the contract between the student and the University is formalized for the development of an academic activity. Registration signature by the student mean accepting the centre academic regulations.


There are two registration periods:

Ordinary period – for those students with all subjects passed at ordinary examination session in June.

Extraordinary period – for those students who take extraordinary examination session in September.


The admission process changes depending on each student’s access route, which are specified below:

Admission requirements for candidates from the Spanish education system

Access for students from the Spanish education system

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • To fill in ESDI’s specific pre-enrolment form
  • Taking a specific vocational profile test (there is no cost to the student). Depending on the test’s result, if necessary, an interview to analyse the academic record will be scheduled.
  • Portfolio’s presentation
  • In case of being accepted, it will be necessary to make a reservation fee within 15 days after receiving the acceptance notification (from June onwards,  it will be within 3 days)
  • Enrolment in June (ordinary period) or in September (extraordinary period).
Application requirements for candidates from European education systems, Switzerland, the International Baccalaureate or China


 

Admission process

  • To fill in ESDI’s specific pre-enrolment form.
  • To send a motivational letter. In the letter, the applicant must explicitly state the reasons for his or her interest in studying design and by which he or she requests his or her admission in ESDi. Optionally, he or she can also provide information about design projects that he or she have made (images can be attached).
  • To do an online or a face-to-face interview to consider the suitability of the applicant and his or her level of maturity to study for a Degree.
  • Only if it is necessary, to present the official Diploma of the programme’s teaching language (Spanish) or to do a level test during the online or face-to-face interview.
  • To get the National Distance Education University’s (UNED) credentials for University entrance.
  • In case of being accepted, it will be necessary to make a reservation fee within 15 days after receiving the acceptance notification.
  • Enrolment in June (ordinary period) or in September (extraordinary period).

 

Application Requirements of candidates from other education systems

Candidates who are citizens of any country in the European Union, or resident in Spain, which come from non-European educational systems and do not have signed reciprocity agreement with Spain, contact the admissions department / academic secretary (secretaria@esdi.edu.es)

In the letter, the applicant must explicitly state the reasons for his or her interest in studying design and by which he or she requests his or her admission in ESDi. Optionally, he or she can also provide information about design projects that he or she have made (images can be attached).
  • To do an online or a face-to-face interview to consider the suitability of the applicant and his or her level of maturity to study for a Degree.
  • Only if it is necessary, to present the official Diploma of the programme’s teaching language (Spanish) or to do a level test during the online or face-to-face interview.
  • To get a validation of his or her studies through the Spanish Ministry of Education .
  • In case of being accepted, it will be necessary to make a reservation fee within 15 days after receiving the acceptance notification-
  • Enrolment in June (ordinary period) or in September (extraordinary period).

 

All the official academic documentation should be presented in Spanish or English.  For the rest of the languages, it is indispensable to provide a legal translation to Spanish or English that includes the official stamp from the school of the home country.
