Barcelona Alexandra Theatre was filled, on Tuesday July 9, in the ceremony Grade Promotion Diplomas. An act certifying that a hundred students came to promoting university official Grade 2009-2013 in Design taught by ESDI in different curricular pathways: Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, Interior Design, Visual Design and Management Design (Multidisciplinary Integration).
The event was chaired by the rector of the University Ramon Llull, Dr.Josep Maria Garrell who wanted to emphasize in his speech that it was a day of celebration: "It’s an end of an era, but also the beginning of another." The event also was chaired by the President of the Foundation for ESDI (FUNDIT), Mr. Josep Bombardó and Navinés.
One by one, the future designers took the stage to collect their diploma promotion, amid the applause of the audience. On behalf of all of them, students Mariana Campos (Fashion) and Carlos Coronado (Audiovisual) and made an emotional speech of thanks, also with touches of humor which ended with loud applause of all in attendance.
The event also served, too, to make a public recognition of the best academic records in 2013 promoting the different routes. The Steering Committee of ESDi Design School also recognized graduates who, for their Final Project, have been recognized by prestigious awards in the field of design: Laura Baldirà, Jennifer Molina and Anna Vila, winning a 2013 Silver Laus for his PFG Welcome to Barcelona, Magaly Villarroel, awarded for its PFG Pork and Gentlemen, a Silver Laus and New Found Student, Adrià Lapiedra, Kevin Sabariego and Roger Varela, awarded a Bronze Laus. They also wanted to acknowledge the graduate Helena Bayona, awarded first prize Grade Final Projects by the Association of Interior Designers and Decorators, CODIC, and the graduate and professor of ESDI Genis Senen, awarded a medal ADI Golden Lamb 2013 for his project Xai. The act also wanted to recognize the best course project 2012-2013 university-industry collaboration in Pinesga Business Group.
Remember that the Academic Steering Committee also recognized the student ESDI with best record of those who marched the day before, on July 8, in ESDI Degree Show, which went to Ana Patricia Romo Davalos. And, granted the award for Best knowledge transfer project to project 2012-2013 Bathing Suits Spanish Synchronized Swimming Team for the World Swimming Championships Barcelona 2013.
