Ona Carbonell and ESDI design swimsuits Synchronized Swimming Team for the European Berlin

The School of Design ESDI has carried out the design of three different models wear swimsuits as the National Synchronized Swimming Team at the European Championships in Berlin, taking place from 18 to 24 August.


The project has made ​​Unity of ESDI Fashion Trends and with the collaboration of the swimmer and student of Fashion ESDI Ona Carbonell, the main component of the team synchronized. The team was coordinated by Professor Cristina Real, while the swimwear has made ​​them the dressmaker and teacher ESDI, Merche Jordan.


The first of the swimwear, which is for group choreography, inspired by the movie ’Tron’ and its incorporation of a new cap in the same swimsuit. The second is to free the individual swimmer Ona Carbonell and based on the wedding dresses and the Ballets Russes, and its main feature backless. And the third, which is the technical duo Paula and Klanburg same Ona Carbonell, is inspired by the work of Salvador Dali’s ’The Persistence of Memory’ as the music of this routine will be Time, by Pink Floyd.


The design process lasted about four months and has taken into account the technical, ergonomic, anatomical and aesthetic own swimming, swimwear essentials for competition, especially for both judges and the public to appreciate the movements and figures of the choreography.
