ESDi’s teacher, Carlos Jimenez, presents the results of his doctoral research at two international conferences

The Director of the ESDI’s Department of Product and Interior Design School, Carlos Jiménez, presented the results of his doctoral research at two international conferences, the International Conference on Cultural Policy Research, in Barcelona, ​​and the other in 8th Conference of the International Committee for Design History and Design Studies, Sao Paulo (Brazil). At the congress in Barcelona, Jimenez participated in the issue of cultural and political development, technical communication "Intangible cultural strategies for local development in peripheral areas: a case study in Gabrovo, Bulgaria." The study presents the theoretical, methodological and preliminary results to test the potential of humor as a strategic element in the design of development plans in a region with a rich sense of humor. And in Brazil, within the theme of "Identity and Territory", ESDi’s teacher has presented and published "Paradise identity, between projection and protection. César Manrique’s lessons for current regional challenges in innovation". The article analyzes the validity of the design principles introduced by Cesar Manrique in Lanzarote between 1968 and 1992 to meet the current challenges in regional innovation. Thus, identifying the main roles, methodologies, ecodesign strategies and indicators of success as teaching resources for future designers.
