Dolors Giró and Natàlia Barros, participants at 1st Route Artlantique

The designer and professor of ESDi Dolores with the student of 3rd Degree in Fashion Design Natalia Barros, traveled from 15 to 30 July in Senegal, to participate in the 1st edition of the Route Artlantique, a design workshop promoted by social enterprise and crafts Artlantique Ramon Llonch, its creator.


Route is an academic project focused on uniting people from different cultures together to work with African artists. From this idea, Route seeks to promote, through the common language of creation, exchange of ideas, experiences and solutions between African and European young artists.


A total of 25 participants, including teachers and students from various design schools in Europe joined the project as well as African artists and designers, who give workshops and came to art, culture and tradition Senegal.


Route Artlantique developed between Senegalese city of Dakar, Thies, St. Louis and Ziguinchor where they develop workshops of clothes and printing, of recycled wood furniture, jewelry, basketry or recycling plate car, among others.
