’Hologramáticos’ by Imanol Buisán will dress up Passeig de Gracia

The third edition of the Swab Stairs contest, which in collaboration with Kognitif and Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has offered to five Catalan design schools the opportunity to decorate, in vinyl, the stairs of the five most central underground stations of Barcelona, already has winners. The Imanol Buisán Martin proposal has been chosen among the three submitted by ESDi, the others are of Berta Albàs and of the group formed by Iria Caballero, Sofia Dezaki and Gemma Estadella (you can see the pictures at the Swab Stairs facebook page ). Imanol describes Hologramáticos as a proposal open to interpretation but anchored in the perception of oneself in comparison with others, and that raises the possibility of the existence of identities identical to ours, although not actually knowing who they are. Therefore Hologramáticos will dress up the stairs of the Passeig de Gracia L2 (in front of Comedia cinema) underground station from 9 to 19 May. Swab Stairs is a contest within the framework of the SWAB International Contemporary Art Fair that will be held in Barcelona from 3 to 6 October and aims to increase the presence at the show in Barcelona of different art proposals inside and outside the fairgrounds and to disseminate the emerging contemporary art and new artistic practices.
