A first answer to the question DO OUR COMPANIES AND ENTREPENEURS HAVE A FUTURE, may take us to answer No, since: - 1 million of small companies/self-employed request tax postponement - Nearly 1 million people develop "phantom" activities (beyond all regulation) - 620 million of VAT has been already paid to the State and has not been charged by the small companies yet - About 5.000 million · remain unpaid by the administrations to small companies - Last year, 500.000 of self-employed ceased their activity - 7 out of 10 funding requests are refused by the Banks - A 40% of those funding requests do not reach 8.000 · - According to the E.U., 47 days are required to create a company in Spain - The facilities to do business in Spain are really low: we are in the 44th position out of 185 according to the ’Doing Business 2013’ ranking from the World Bank (the Spain’s position among the Euro-zone countries is the 12th out of 17). But beyond all numbers that drive us to a negative answer for the question, we cannot deny that without companies, there is no future, and at the same time it must be recognized that the productive organizations are the ones which add value and enable the technical and scientist progress’ conversion into economic and social progress. Without companies there is only poverty and immobilizer ties to the past. Therefore, regarding the issue about the future of the business activity, it is necessary to look for the background, and to recognize that the entrepreneurial ability has not been promoted, and that most of people have not developed the ability of listening to the weak environmental noises that determine the future. They have not discovered that when this weak noise becomes an outcry, the business opportunity has vanished. Neither can be denied that being an entrepreneur or a businessman or woman was, is and will be a challenge that will be only accessible to those who assume that there is no entrepreneurship without accepting that, in the entrepreneur vital race we will find the business activity, a place where there is failure, frustration, renewal, success, genesis, duel, betrayal, loyalty… in conclusion, the Success-failure binomial. And accepting, at the same time, that the company does not come out of nowhere, there is a continuous process of permanent improvement and growth: Today’s company is yesterday’s entrepreneur. Due to the fact that the entrepreneurship (startup) is for the company as the Theory is the supreme form of the praxis. The companies are necessary, but unfortunately: the Spanish ecosystem does not facilitate the companies’ startup, and at the same time, the attitudes and the skills are not the required ones. In this complex situation, in which one should trust in their abilities and the ones of the entrepreneurship "partners", the question about what does it take to start up a business and to be a business owner wanting to minimize the failure and to maximize the success should be asked. The answer lies in understanding and embracing the following 11 aspects: 1. To accept that the entrepreneurship is the way to improve collective life quality, taking the risk of waiting for differential and significant profits. 2. To admit that there is no entrepreneurship without accepting the Success-failure binomial. 3. To apply symbiotically the meditation and the action, the management and the administration, the innovation and the symbiotic consolidation of the theory and the practice. 4. To assume that without though precision ability there is no entrepreneur. 5. To visualize in advance the product/service one want to produce/give. 6. To value the intelligence: without it there is no ability to observe, analyze, reflect on, discern and conclude. 7. To be oneself in the team: to blur its essence in the team’s strength winning over the leadership that runs from the hierarchy of the one who is in charge, through the talent and the cooperation, in order to gain the loyalty’s commitment. 8. To look for the sustained success, dispelling the despotism, the intolerance and the isolation. 9. To embrace the fact that society is hyperconnected, media-oriented, open, impulsive and which is permanently accelerated. 10. To sail symbiotically between the thought/feeling binomial: the thought requires time, whereas the feeling is momentary and intuitive. 11. To assume that management is essential: to embrace the cycle: To measure, to compare, to act; identifying the parameters that will allow the measurement, the referential frameworks, and possessing the necessary tools to act. Certainly, being an entrepreneur implies having a lot of virtues, and at the same time it implies not being some sort of things. An entrepreneur/business owner: Is NOT insensitive, neither does get isolated nor act from the solitude; does not cling to where he or she lives (looks at the world), does not stop, does not accept the impossible: it just a challenge to overcome. An entrepreneur looks for answers to get right where he or she must act. Without any doubt, it is not an easy task, especially, since one must know how to identify the weak noises that determine the future, relying on the abilities and knowledge, and on must always bear in mind that there are no mature sectors, in any case, there are companies (business owners) that no do not know how to innovate. In conclusion, even the huge difficulties; we can affirm that companies and entrepreneurs do have a future, because there are plenty of opportunities in this globalized world. However, the entrepreneurs and business owners must be people who stare at the world (running away from the immobilizing localism), who want to overcome the impossible (innovating), who do more with less to preserve the future (sustainability as a principle), who work as a team with loyalty (who accept the potential of the multidisciplinary symbiosis) and who know that the differential goals can be only achieved with effort, persistence, sacrifice and determination. 15.01.2013
