Admission and enrolment

The admissions process to apply for a place in ESDi is open all year. Even so, the most common and recommendable is to do it between twelve and six months before the start of the academic year in September.
It is relevant to keep in mind that places for each itinerary are limited and rigorously covered by order of reservation. This is why admissions process is usually closed some months before the start of the academic year, being recommendable to initiate the process several months in advance.

The admission process changes depending on each student’s access route, which are specified below:

Spanish students

Access for students from the Spanish education system

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • To fill in ESDI’s specific pre-enrolment form.
  • To send a motivational letter.
    In the letter, the applicant must explicitly state the reasons for his or her interest in studying design and by which he or she requests his or her admission in ESDi. Optionally, he or she can also provide information about design projects that he or she have made (images can be attached).
  • To do an online or a face-to-face interview to consider the suitability of the applicant and his or her level of maturity to study for a Degree. 
  • Only if it is necessary, to present the official Diploma of the programme’s teaching language (Spanish) or to do a level test during the online or face-to-face interview.
  • In case of being accepted, it will be necessary to make a reservation fee within 15 days after receiving the acceptance notification (from June onwards,  it will be within 3 days)
  • Enrolment in June (ordinary period) or in September (extraordinary period).
  • Have taken the international bachelor or have taken studies in a Bilingual School

 

 

European Union students

Access for students from European Union, Switzerland, China or other countries having international agreements with Spain or students sitting the International Baccalaureate or the European Baccalaureate

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • To fill in ESDI’s specific pre-enrolment form.
  • To send a motivational letter.
    In the letter, the applicant must explicitly state the reasons for his or her interest in studying design and by which he or she requests his or her admission in ESDi. Optionally, he or she can also provide information about design projects that he or she have made (images can be attached).
  • To do an online or a face-to-face interview to consider the suitability of the applicant and his or her level of maturity to study for a Degree.
  • Only if it is necessary, to present the official Diploma of the programme’s teaching language (English) or to do a level test during the online or face-to-face interview.
  • To get the National Distance Education University’s (UNED) credentials for University entrance.
  • In case of being accepted, it will be necessary to make a reservation fee within 15 days after receiving the acceptance notification.
  • Enrolment in June (ordinary period) or in September (extraordinary period).

 

International students from outside the EU

Access for the rest of the students (from outside the EU) and for those without the International Baccalaureate 

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • To fill in ESDI’s specific pre-enrolment form.
  • To send a motivational letter.
    In the letter, the applicant must explicitly state the reasons for his or her interest in studying design and by which he or she requests his or her admission in ESDi. Optionally, he or she can also provide information about design projects that he or she have made (images can be attached).
  • To do an online or a face-to-face interview to consider the suitability of the applicant and his or her level of maturity to study for a Degree.
  • Only if it is necessary, to present the official Diploma of the programme’s teaching language (English) or to do a level test during the online or face-to-face interview.
  • To get the National Distance Education University’s (UNED) credentials for University entrance.
  • To pass the University Entrance Exam (PAU) through the National Distance Education University (UNED).
  • In case of being accepted, it will be necessary to make a reservation fee within 15 days after receiving the acceptance notification.
  • Enrolment in June (ordinary period) or in September (extraordinary period).
    All the official academic documentation should be presented in Spanish or English.  For the rest of the languages, it is indispensable to provide a legal translation to Spanish or English that includes the official stamp from the school of the home country.
